Vendor Information
Terms and Conditions - Vendors, please read carefully.
The Fairfax Funky Flea is a fun and vibrant community flea market. We are interested in friendly, experienced vendors who have a social media presence, and a large inventory that is visually appealing. We give preference to:
-
Vintage clothing and jewelry for men and women
-
Antique and vintage home goods
-
Interesting and good quality second-hand goods
-
Unique artisan wares.
We do not allow new, imported, and multi-level-marketing goods. We do allow a few household cleanouts, and have space for local non-profits as well.
Location: The Fairfax Funky Flea is located in the parking lot located behind the 4031 University Drive location. The cross street is Sager Avenue.
Dates and Times: The flea is always held on the last Saturday of the month (not the fourth Saturday). We do not have rain dates. The posted times are 9-3pm.
Fees: Spaces (marked parking spaces) are about 14 feet deep and 9 feet wide.
-
One parking space is $30 and can fit an 8' by 8' canopy.
-
Two parking spaces is $60 and will fit a 10' by 10' canopy.
Fees are collected in person on the day of the event. We accept payment by Venmo, cash, credit card (with a $3 surcharge), and Zelle. New and returning vendors must also complete a liability waiver prior to participating for the first time each calendar year.
Look for our Fairfax Funky Flea market banner at our booth on market day to find us. We'll also come around to check on you and make sure you have everything you need to have a successful day.
Equipment: All vendors must provide their own tables, canopies, chairs, etc. Tents must be weighted on all four legs with 25 pound weights. If you need a generator for food/drink services, please let us know so we can place you in the appropriate designated space. There is no electricity on site.
Set Up and Take Down: Set up can be as early as 6:00am and must be completed by 9:00am. Cars are not allowed in the lot during the flea market hours of 9-3:00pm for the safety of our customers and vendors. There is plenty of close by parking for vendors.
The lot has a slight slope so please bring weights to ensure your racks/tables do not tip.
Because set up and take down can get busy, please be considerate of fellow vendors and do not block traffic lanes or assigned spaces. The best way to set up is to back into your space, unload, and then move your car.
At the end of the day, make sure your space is clean and all trash is disposed of. We do provide trash cans for your convenience. Our usage of this parking lot is dependent on how we treat it.
Bad Weather: We hold the flea rain or shine. However, if heavy rain, ice, snow, or wind gusts are predicted we will close the market with 24 hours notice. We follow the weather reports obsessively and try to make the best decision we can with the information we have. Sometimes we get it wrong, but we err on the side of safety for vendors and customers. If high temperatures are expected, consider bringing fans, plenty of water, and a canopy or umbrella.
Other Amenities: We have a portable toilet on the premises for your use, plus we have a monthly coffee vendor and food vendor. Some of our vendors also sell food products Main Street is one block away and also offers a wide variety of restaurants and coffee shops.
Communication: We communicate by email from our website. We email you to confirm your booking, to send you your assigned space, and in case of any other reminders. Make sure our emails from sharon@fairfaxfunkyflea.com do not end up in your spam folder. If you need to text us on market day, please reach out to Sharon at 703-362-2582. Include your name in the message.
Social Media: Please do your part and share your participation with your social media followers. Indicate you're interested on our Facebook Event pages so news of the flea spreads to your friends and followers. Create live posts on market day and tag: @fairfaxfunkyflea as well. We do our part to promote the flea; please help us by promoting it too.
Most Importantly: We want our vendors to be successful and to enjoy our friendly and fun atmosphere. Do your part to be considerate of other vendors and collaborative when things go wrong. If you no-show one of our events, or generally create dissension, you will not be invited back.
